Erythronium 'Pagoda' 2 Bulbs

An RHS Award of Garden Merit winner, Erythronium 'Pagoda' is a real gem for shady spring borders and woodland planting. Glossy, deep green leaves mottled with bronze emerge first, followed by elegant, nodding lemon-yellow flowers with gracefully recurved petals and a warm reddish-brown centre. Each sturdy stem can carry several blooms, held well clear of the foliage on wiry stalks, making this a particularly free-flowering and reliable form of trout lily.

Reaching around 15-35cm in height with a spread of 10-15cm, 'Pagoda' is best planted in early autumn, 12-13cm deep, in humus-rich, moisture-retentive soil in partial shade. It's happiest left undisturbed once settled, slowly bulking up into handsome clumps over the years, though as a slower-establishing bulb it may take a couple of seasons to reach its full potential and flower freely.
