Hollies bring glossy evergreen foliage, strong structure and, on female plants, bright winter berries to the garden. Ideal as specimen trees, topiary or dense, secure hedging, they're hardy, adaptable and happy in sun or shade, including coastal sites. Plant a male holly near a female variety for the best berry crop.
