Taylors Bulbs Tulip Gavota (6)

An award-winning Triumph tulip, Tulip 'Gavota' pairs rich, satiny maroon petals with a broad golden-yellow margin for a bold, distinctive contrast that only becomes more striking as the blooms mature. Sturdy and weather-resistant, it reaches around 45-50cm and holds up well to wet, windy spring conditions, making it a reliable choice for beds, borders, containers or cutting for the vase.

Plant the bulbs in late summer or autumn at a depth of 10-15cm in fertile, well-drained soil, choosing a sunny position with shelter from strong winds. 'Gavota' flowers in mid-to-late spring and, as one of the more perennial Triumph varieties, will return in following years given good drainage. As with all tulips, the bulbs are harmful if eaten and can cause skin allergies, so gloves are worth wearing when handling.

Supplied as a pack of 6 top-quality bulbs. Each bulb is hand-selected before dispatch. Available from Pengelly Garden Centre.
