A truly elegant daffodil, Narcissus 'Verger' pairs pure white, spreading petals with a small, frilled corona in a striking red-orange — a combination that gives it the refined look of a pheasant's-eye narcissus, but flowering weeks earlier in mid-spring. The contrast between the pristine white perianth and vivid cup makes it a real standout in the border.
A Division 3 small-cupped variety, Verger is a strong, reliable performer that naturalises well over time, and has even picked up RHS forcing awards for its performance when grown indoors. It makes an excellent cut flower and works beautifully in containers, borders, or naturalised as groundcover beneath shrubs and trees.
Plant bulbs in autumn, at one-and-a-half to two times the depth of the bulb, in moderately fertile, well-drained soil that stays reliably moist through the growing season, in full sun or partial shade. As with all narcissi, bulbs and sap can be harmful if eaten and may irritate skin, so gloves are recommended when handling.
Each bulb is hand-selected before dispatch.
