Taylors Bulbs Narcissus 'Verdin' (10)

A dainty and dependable Jonquilla daffodil, Narcissus 'Verdin' bears two to four fragrant flowers per stem, opening a soft yellow with a short cup that gradually transitions towards creamy white as the blooms mature. Clump-forming and compact at around 25cm, it's ideal for rockeries, containers, or planting en masse in the border, and makes a reliable, animal-resistant naturaliser too.

Plant the bulbs in autumn at one and a half to two times their own depth, in moderately fertile, well-drained soil that stays reliably moist through the growing season, in full sun. 'Verdin' flowers from early to late spring, and as a Jonquilla variety it carries the characteristic soft, sweet fragrance the group is known for. As with all narcissi, the bulbs are harmful if eaten and can irritate skin, so gloves are worth wearing when handling, and deadhead as flowers fade to keep energy going back into the bulb.
