A charming double-flowered sport of the ever-popular 'Tête-à-Tête', Narcissus 'Tête Bouclé' offers a mass of ruffled, fully double petals in two shades of golden yellow, framed by a slightly reflexed collar that gives the blooms a delightfully windswept, fluffy appearance. A dwarf variety reaching just 15-20cm, it's ideal for the front of borders, containers, window boxes, or naturalising in drifts, and makes a lovely cut flower too.
Plant the bulbs in autumn at one and a half to two times their own depth, in moderately fertile, well-drained soil that stays reliably moist through the growing season, in full sun or partial shade. 'Tête Bouclé' flowers early to mid-spring and, like its parent, is a vigorous, reliable performer that will multiply happily with little care. As with all narcissi, the bulbs are harmful if eaten and can irritate skin, so gloves are worth wearing during planting, and deadhead as flowers fade to keep energy going back into the bulb.
Supplied as a pack of 12 top-quality bulbs. Each bulb is hand-selected before dispatch. Available from Pengelly Garden Centre.
