Elegant and refined, Tulip 'Catherina' is one of the finest late-blooming white tulips available. Large, egg-shaped flowers open a soft ivory with a delicate creamy-yellow blush, gradually turning purer white as the blooms mature and open fully in the sun, revealing a warm buttercup-yellow base within.
A Single Late variety, Catherina is one of the tallest tulip classes, reaching an impressive 55–60cm on strong, sturdy stems that hold up beautifully to spring weather. Flowering in May, right at the tail end of the tulip season, it brings a note of understated sophistication to borders and makes an exceptional cut flower, particularly striking when massed together or used to set off bolder colours nearby.
Plant bulbs in autumn, at twice their own depth and 10–15cm apart, in fertile, well-drained soil in a sunny, sheltered position. As with all tulips, bulbs and sap can be harmful if eaten and may irritate skin, so gloves are recommended when handling.
Each bulb is hand-selected before dispatch.
