Taylor Bulbs Allium 'Miami' (7)

For real architectural drama in the border, Allium 'Miami' is hard to beat. Open, semi-circular flower heads are densely packed with striking purplish-red florets, held aloft on tall, sturdy, leafless stems — a bold, sculptural presence that brings structure to any planting scheme.

Reaching an impressive 80cm in height, Miami flowers in early summer and is a magnet for bees and other pollinators, making it a fantastic addition to wildlife-friendly borders. It's an easy-going, reliable perennial that naturalises well over time, and the long-lasting flower heads make superb cut or dried flowers. Looks particularly striking planted through soft purples, whites and ornamental grasses.

Plant bulbs in autumn (September to December), around three times the bulb's depth, in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun.
