Rosa 'Odelia'

Odelia offers large, full blooms with a beautifully old-fashioned look, in a vivid orange-red that brings real warmth to the garden. The double flowers, measuring 8–10cm across with between 25 and 50 petals, are borne in generous spray clusters and carry a heady, old-rose perfume. True to its Renaissance heritage, this variety flowers continuously through the season and holds its blooms beautifully upright rather than drooping, giving a consistently neat and colourful display right into autumn.

A hardy, healthy and reliable shrub rose with good to excellent disease resistance, 'Odelia' is well suited to a sunny position, in fertile, well-drained, loamy soil that retains moisture without becoming waterlogged. A light trim in autumn followed by a proper prune in spring will keep growth strong and encourage a full flush of flowers, with feeding recommended at pruning time and again after the first blooms appear.

Reaching 100–150cm (3–5ft) in height with a narrow, bushy habit, 'Odelia' is a versatile choice for large containers, beds, borders, or even hedging, and its long-lasting flowers — up to 18 days — make it an excellent choice for cutting too.
