Rosa 'Andre Rieu'

Bring a little musical magic to your garden with this beautiful shrub rose, named in tribute to the world-famous violinist and conductor. 'André Rieu' produces richly double, deep pink-red blooms packed with over 40 velvety petals, borne in generous clusters and filled with a captivating fragrance of lemon, orange, mint and musk. Flowering repeatedly from early summer through to autumn, it offers months of colour and scent, set against glossy dark green foliage that turns attractive shades as the season progresses.

Compact, upright and well-branched, this is a wonderfully low-maintenance rose with excellent disease resistance. It's happiest in a sunny to lightly shaded position, in fertile, free-draining soil kept moist but never waterlogged. A light trim in autumn followed by a proper prune in spring will keep it strong and flowering freely, with a feed at pruning time and again after the first flush of blooms.

Growing to a neat 60–70cm (24–28in) in height and spread, 'André Rieu' is equally at home in beds, borders and containers, and makes a lovely addition to a cut flower display.
