Pterocarya fraxinifolia — 7L Container

Pterocarya fraxinifolia, the Caucasian wingnut, is a fast-growing, wide-spreading tree for larger gardens and parkland. Its long, pinnate leaves turn butter-yellow in autumn, and in summer it is hung with remarkable green catkins that can reach 50cm or more, followed by winged fruits. The bark becomes deeply furrowed with age.

It grows to around 7m x 4m after 10 years and can sucker, so give it plenty of space. It thrives in moist to wet soil in full sun, and is ideal beside water.
