Pontederia cordata 1ltr

A vigorous, clump-forming marginal aquatic perennial, with glossy, heart-shaped green leaves rising above the water on upright stems. From early summer through into autumn it produces dense spikes of violet-blue tubular flowers, held well clear of the foliage and blooming in succession from the bottom up. A wonderful choice for pond margins and water gardens, providing structure and long-lasting colour while attracting bees, butterflies and dragonflies. Reaches 60–120cm in height with a spread of 45–60cm. Grows best in full sun in rich, loamy soil, planted at the pond margin with 0–15cm of water above the soil.
