Phlox paniculata 'Famous Purple' 2L

A compact, clump-forming garden phlox that brings reliable, long-lasting colour to the summer border. Whorls of mid-green, pointed foliage support large, domed clusters of richly scented purple flowers, produced in profusion from June through to September. Part of the popular Famous series, it's valued for flowering two to three weeks earlier than many other paniculata varieties, along with good resistance to powdery mildew - a common problem in this group. Ideal for smaller borders, front-of-border positions, or large containers on patios.

Grow in fertile, moist soil in full sun or partial shade, working in plenty of well-rotted manure or compost before planting. Divide established clumps in autumn or spring to keep them vigorous, or take basal cuttings in spring.
