Paeonia Lactiflora 'Nymphe' 11cm

An RHS Award of Garden Merit winner, 'Nymphe' is a delicate heirloom peony introduced in 1913 by the celebrated French breeder Auguste Dessert. It bears large, strongly fragrant, single blooms in apple blossom pink, with a central cluster of bright golden-yellow stamens — an elegant, understated beauty compared to the classic double peony. Dark green, divided foliage stays attractive throughout the season.

Free-flowering and sturdy, it quickly forms a well-furnished plant smothered in blooms during midsummer, and has particularly good weather resistance for a single-flowered variety. Single peonies like this one also cope better with a touch of shade than their blowsier double cousins, making 'Nymphe' a versatile choice for borders that aren't in full sun all day.
