Paeonia Lactiflora 'Lord Kitchener' 5Ltr

A striking single-flowered peony, its deep red blooms opening to reveal a bold centre of golden anthers — a simpler, more naturalistic look than the fuller double varieties, but no less eye-catching in a border or vase. Flowers appear in late spring and early summer above dark green, finely divided foliage.

A clump-forming herbaceous perennial reaching 0.5–1m in height with a narrower spread of 0.1–0.5m, making it a good fit for tighter borders where space is at a premium. Grow in full sun or partial shade in moist but well-drained soil, and avoid moving established plants — peonies settle best left undisturbed. Foliage can be a mild skin irritant to pets. Supplied in a 5 litre pot. Each plant is hand-selected before dispatch. Available from Pengelly Garden Centre.
