Nothofagus antarctica — 12L Container

Nothofagus antarctica, the Antarctic beech, is an elegant, fast-growing tree from Chile, introduced to Britain in 1830. Its small, rounded, crinkled leaves are glossy dark green and pleasantly scented, turning bright yellow and orange in autumn. The chocolate-brown bark is marked with silver, and the broadly conical, often irregular habit gives it real character.

It grows to around 8m x 4m after 10 years, so give it room. Plant in full sun in fertile, moist but well-drained, lime-free soil, ideally in an open but sheltered position.

Each tree is hand-selected before dispatch.
