Nandina domestica 'Blush Pink' 2L

Nandina domestica 'Blush Pink'

A compact and beautifully coloured form of heavenly bamboo, Nandina domestica 'Blush Pink' brings year-round interest to the garden with its ever-changing foliage. New spring growth emerges a soft blush pink, deepening through the season to a rich reddish-green, before turning fiery red and orange as autumn and winter set in — giving this evergreen shrub multiple seasons of colour from the same neat framework of finely divided, bamboo-like leaves.

Small, star-shaped white flowers appear in conical clusters during midsummer, though as a non-flowering sport this cultivar won't set the berries typical of the species, making it a tidier, more garden-friendly choice. It's worth noting that all parts of Nandina are harmful if eaten, so care should be taken around pets and poultry, and gloves are recommended when handling and pruning.

Compact and slow-growing, 'Blush Pink' reaches around 60cm in height and spread, making it ideal for smaller borders, containers, or as low structural planting near a patio or entrance. It thrives in full sun or partial shade, in any moist but well-drained soil, and needs minimal pruning to keep its neat, bushy habit.

Each plant is hand-selected before dispatch.
