A compact, low-growing perennial reaching around 20-30cm in height, forming a neat mound of oval, slightly sticky green leaves. From June through to August it's covered in vivid, trumpet-shaped scarlet-red flowers, offering a long and reliable season of colour.
'Red Emperor' thrives in full sun to partial shade in consistently moist to boggy soil, making it perfect for pond margins, bog gardens, or damp borders. Deadheading spent flowers encourages continued blooming throughout the summer. It's an easy, low-maintenance plant that's also popular with pollinators.
