Malus 'Evereste' is one of the most popular of all crab apples, and with good reason. In April and May, large soft pink buds open to white blossom, followed by masses of small red and yellow fruits like miniature apples, which hang well into winter. It forms a neat, conical tree and holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
It grows to around 4m x 4m after 10 years. Grow in full sun or partial shade in fertile, moist but well-drained soil; clay is tolerated. It is self-fertile and an excellent pollinator for nearby apple trees, and needs very little pruning beyond removing any damaged growth in late winter.
