Magnolia Elizabeth (Yellow) — 12L Container

Magnolia 'Elizabeth' is a much-loved yellow magnolia, bearing fragrant, pale primrose-yellow cup-shaped flowers on bare branches in April. Coppery-bronze new leaves mature to dark green and turn golden yellow in autumn, giving interest beyond the flowering season. Its upright, conical habit suits smaller gardens, and it holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.

It reaches around 4m x 2m after 10 years. Plant in full sun or light shade in a sheltered spot, in moist, well-drained, ideally slightly acidic soil; heavier clay is tolerated. Shelter matters, as cold winds and late frosts can damage the buds and flowers. Pruning is rarely needed, but any shaping is best done straight after flowering or in late summer.
