Littorella uniflora 1L Oxygenator

A low-growing, semi-evergreen native aquatic plant, forming compact rosettes of narrow, fleshy leaves that spread by runners to create a dense carpet on the pond floor. When grown emergent rather than fully submerged, tiny four-petalled white flowers appear from the centre of each rosette between May and August.

A UK native, shoreweed is a useful oxygenator and copes well in shade, thriving in moist, boggy soil at the pond margin or fully submerged in clear water to depths of up to 60cm. It's slow-growing and low-maintenance, making it a good choice for naturalistic ponds where it also provides shelter for fish and other pond wildlife.
