An elegant, architectural perennial grown as much for its foliage as its flowers. Clumps of maple-like, palmately lobed leaves rise on slender, dark maroon stems, giving the plant a graceful, layered look throughout spring and summer. From late summer into autumn, nodding, waxy, creamy-yellow bell flowers appear in open sprays above the foliage, followed by ornamental seed pods that extend interest further into the season. Reaches around 1.2m in height with a spread of roughly 60-75cm, making it a lovely mid-to-back-of-border choice for shaded and woodland-style planting schemes.
Grow in partial or full shade in moist, lime-free soil enriched with leaf mould, and shelter from cold winds. It thrives in the dappled conditions of a woodland garden, planted alongside hostas, ferns, astilbes or hydrangeas. Divide established clumps as growth begins in spring to create new plants.
Each plant is hand-selected for healthy, vigorous growth before it leaves us.
