Iris Louisiana 'Ann Chowning' 1ltr

A striking Louisiana iris bearing intense, velvety cherry-red flowers, each marked with a bold golden-yellow signal at the base of the falls. The blooms, up to 15cm across, are carried on tall, sturdy stems above sword-shaped green foliage, making a real statement at pond edges or in a moist border. Flowering in early summer.

Reaching around 70-90cm in height, this vigorous, award-winning cultivar thrives in sun or partial shade and moist to wet, humus-rich soil, and can be grown directly in shallow water up to 20cm deep as well as in consistently damp ground. 'Ann Chowning' has won multiple awards from the Society for Louisiana Irises, including the Mary Swords DeBaillon Medal.
