An extraordinary mophead hydrangea from the latest Royalty Collection breeding, 'Lady Mata Hari Pink' produces large, showy blooms in summer, each flower a unique blend of mauve-pink, creamy-white, and apple-green — creating a hand-painted effect where no two blooms are ever quite the same. This compact, deciduous shrub has an attractive branching habit, making it equally at home as a container plant for the patio or as an eye-catching feature in a lightly shaded border. Faded, skeletal blooms and good autumn foliage extend its season of interest well beyond flowering.
Reaching around 120cm in height and spread, it suits both smaller gardens and larger container displays. Grow in a sunny or semi-shaded position, sheltered from cold, drying winds, in rich, fertile, moist soil improved with plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost — or in soil-based compost if growing in a patio container. As with other hydrangea cultivars, flower tone can vary subtly with soil pH.
Water regularly until established, leave faded flower heads in place over winter to protect the developing buds from frost, and prune after flowering to control size and improve shape, finishing with a mulch of well-rotted manure or compost around the base.
Each plant is hand-selected to ensure it reaches you in excellent condition, ready to bring a truly one-of-a-kind display to your garden.
