Helianthemum Golden Queen 1.5ltr

A low, mat-forming evergreen shrub smothered from late spring into early summer with bright yellow, saucer-shaped flowers marked with orange at the centre. Each bloom lasts only a day, but they're produced in such abundance that the display runs for weeks, drawing in bees and other pollinators. It's an easy, cheerful choice for the front of a border, spilling over walls, or softening paving and gravel gardens.

Reaching around 10–50cm in height and spread, it thrives in full sun and fertile, neutral to alkaline soil that's moist but well-drained — happy in chalk, clay, loam or sand, but not wet winter ground. Tolerant of both exposed and sheltered spots, it's a good option for coastal gardens too. Once established, it's drought-tolerant and low-maintenance. Prune lightly after flowering to keep its neat shape and encourage a second flush of blooms.
