Blended to a fine, even texture, this compost offers excellent moisture retention alongside good drainage, helping to keep seeds and cuttings consistently and gently moist while reducing the risk of damping off. The open structure also makes it easy for fine new roots to establish and spread, giving both seeds and cuttings the encouragement they need to root away strongly.

Ideal for sowing seeds, taking softwood and semi-ripe cuttings, and pricking out seedlings, this compost gives plants a firm foundation before they're potted on into a richer growing medium once established.
