Gaultheria procumbens 'Big Berry' 10.5cm

Gaultheria procumbens 'Big Berry' is a compact, evergreen groundcover shrub prized for its glossy dark green foliage and abundance of large, bright red berries that persist from autumn right through winter. In summer, small, bell-shaped white to pale pink flowers appear among the leaves, which release a pleasant wintergreen fragrance when crushed. As the seasons turn, the foliage often develops attractive bronze and reddish tones, adding extra colour through the colder months.

A hardy, low-maintenance choice, it thrives in moist, well-drained acidic soil and partial shade, forming a dense, spreading carpet that's ideal for borders, containers, and woodland-style planting.

Each plant is hand-selected for its quality. Available at Pengelly Garden Centre.
