Euphorbia 'Miner's Merlot' is a striking, evergreen perennial prized for its ever-changing, richly coloured foliage as much as its flowers. Narrow leaves emerge a deep wine-red, maturing to burgundy-tinted olive green backed in dark purple, with colours deepening further in cooler weather – a dramatic, year-round display in its own right. From late spring into summer, clusters of long-lasting, lime-green flowers rise above the foliage, creating a wonderful contrast against the dark leaves and proving a magnet for bees and butterflies.

Forming a dense, upright, rounded mound, this variety reaches a height and spread of around 40–60cm, making it a superb accent plant for mixed borders, gravel gardens, or containers. Its flowers are also excellent for cutting, adding unusual colour and texture to floral displays.

Euphorbia 'Miner's Merlot' thrives in full sun to partial shade, in fertile, free-draining soil, and is fully hardy, heat- and drought-tolerant once established. When cutting back spent flower stems, always wear gloves, as the milky sap can irritate skin.
