Euonymus hamiltonianus 'Koi Boy' (12L Pot)

A bold and unusual spindle, 'Koi Boy' offers something a little different from its pink-fruited relatives, with a large, somewhat arching habit and big, oval, mid-green leaves that turn a soft, warm pale yellow as autumn arrives. Small, understated green and white flowers appear in summer, but the real spectacle follows: distinctive white, four-lobed fruit capsules that split open to reveal vivid bright red seeds inside, a striking colour combination that lasts well into late autumn.

Please note the fruits and seeds are toxic if eaten, so it's best sited away from areas where children or pets might be tempted to sample them.

Adaptable and easy-going, it tolerates a wide range of soils including chalk, clay, loam and sand, and copes with both exposed and sheltered positions in full sun or partial shade. Given time it will reach an eventual height of 2.5–4m with a spread of 1.5–2.5m, making it a fine choice for naturalistic planting, woodland-edge borders, or as a striking specimen shrub in larger gardens.
