Deco-Pak Alpine Grit 6mm

Fine, practical and quietly attractive, Alpine Grit is a gardener’s essential with plenty of decorative appeal. The small 6mm chippings come in natural, earthy tones that give a neat, finished look to pots, rockeries, borders and paths.

Used as a top dressing, it is ideal around alpines, rock plants, succulents and cacti. It keeps moisture away from the necks of plants, helps prevent rot, and discourages weeds and moss. Mixed into compost or heavy soil, it improves drainage and aeration, making it a useful addition to potting mixes for plants that dislike wet feet. Its fine grading also makes a comfortable, easy-to-walk path or a tidy mulch for beds and borders. Rinse before use, or let rainfall wash away any natural quarry dust. For paths and decorative areas, lay at a depth of 30–40mm over a weed-control membrane.

As a natural product, each batch will vary slightly in size, shape and colour.
