One of the most fragrant of all English roses, bred by David Austin and introduced in 2011, named after Wollerton Old Hall in Shropshire — one of the UK's most beautiful private gardens. Plump buds, marked with attractive flashes of red, open into beautifully rounded, chalice-shaped blooms of pale apricot that gradually soften to cream. Carries an exceptionally powerful, warm myrrh fragrance with intense hints of citrus — a rose best positioned somewhere its scent can be properly appreciated, such as near a doorway or path. Upright and bushy in growth, more so than many English roses, and notably free of thorns. Extremely healthy with good disease resistance, flowering abundantly over a long season from late spring right through to autumn. Versatile — grows as a substantial shrub or, particularly in warmer or more sheltered spots, can be trained as a short climber up a wall, arch, or trellis. Reaches around 150–240cm in height with a 90cm spread as a shrub, taller again when trained as a climber.
Each rose is hand-selected to reach you in the best possible condition.
