A magnificent, hugely popular English climbing rose bred by David Austin and introduced in 2002, named for the National Garden Scheme in the UK. Large, beautifully formed double blooms in a pale, glowing pink open to reveal numerous stamens, giving each flower an almost water-lily-like effect as it matures. The fragrance is a real standout — rich and complex, with notes of Old Rose, musk, and myrrh, often at its most pronounced on warm, humid evenings, and widely rated among the most fragrant of all English roses. Vigorous, with long, arching stems and healthy, glossy, dark green foliage that shows good disease resistance. Repeat-flowering from June right through to the first frosts. Versatile — can be grown as a climber trained against a wall, fence, or pergola, or kept as a large free-standing shrub. Holder of the RHS Award of Garden Merit. As a climber, reaches around 3–4.5m in height with a spread of 1.8–2.4m; as a shrub, around 150–200cm with a spread of 100–120cm.
Each rose is hand-selected to reach you in the best possible condition.
