A historic, richly-coloured climbing rose bred by René Barbier in France in 1909, sold through David Austin's rose range. Flat, quartered blooms in a rich crimson-pink with quilled petals surround a green eye and yellow stamens, giving each flower a distinctive rosette form, and carrying a strong, fruity fragrance reminiscent of apples. The main flush arrives in early-to-midsummer, with a good scattered repeat crop often following in early autumn. Vigorous, with few thorns and dark, glossy foliage that stays healthy throughout the season. Famously trained across the garden trellises at the Roseraie de L'Haÿ-les-Roses near Paris. Holder of the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Reaches around 3.5–8m depending on support and training, with a spread of up to 3.5m — well suited to a large wall, pergola, or growing up into a mature tree.

Each rose is hand-selected to reach you in the best possible condition.
