Cyperus longus 1ltr

A stately, native marginal sedge, valued for its arching, grass-like foliage and architectural form. Erect triangular stems reach up to around 1m, topped in summer with clusters of olive-green to reddish-brown flower spikes.

Sweet Galingale thrives in shallow water up to 20-30cm deep or in reliably moist, boggy soil, in full sun or partial shade. It's a vigorous, spreading plant, so best grown in an aquatic basket to keep its rhizomes in check, and it provides excellent cover for pondlife in larger ponds or lakes. Cut back old foliage in late autumn once it has died down.
