Crataegus succulenta 'Jubilee' (PBR) (12L Pot)

A striking North American hawthorn, 'Jubilee' brings a fast-growing, upright habit and real landscape resilience to the garden. Its glossy green, oval leaves turn a handsome gold in autumn, while the long thorns give it a distinctly architectural, tough character well suited to exposed or urban settings.

In May, clusters of up to 25 small white flowers appear, valuable for pollinators, followed in autumn by an impressive display of large, spherical, fleshy red berries — noticeably bigger than those of many hawthorns — which persist on the branches and prove hugely beneficial to garden birds through the colder months.

This variety is particularly prized for its resistance to fireblight and pollution, along with good drought tolerance once established, making it an excellent choice for tricky or exposed sites as well as more traditional borders. It grows well in most soils, including chalk, clay, loam and sand, in full sun or partial shade, though it dislikes waterlogging. Given time it reaches around 4–8m in height with a narrower 2.5–4m spread.
