A compact, long-flowering herbaceous perennial that forms a low mound of leathery green leaves, from which upright stems carry large, single, golden-yellow, daisy-like flowers over an unusually long season, from June right through to October. Bred at Walberton Nursery in West Sussex, it's raised via micro-propagation to keep the plants sterile and virus-free — which, alongside prompt deadheading, is part of what keeps the flowering going for so many months. It's a cheerful, reliable choice for the front of a border, and its flowers are popular with bees and butterflies.

Reaching around 35cm in height with a spread of up to 40cm, it does best in full sun, in fertile, well-drained soil, and is equally happy in a border or a patio container of soil-based compost. Water regularly to keep flowering going strong, particularly through any dry spells in autumn, and deadhead spent blooms often to encourage more. Prune back hard in early spring, down to around 5cm, to make way for strong new growth. It associates well with rudbeckia, alchemilla, yellow phormium and crocosmia if you're looking to build a planting scheme around it.

Each plant is hand-selected before dispatch to ensure it reaches you in the best possible condition.
