An eye-catching, sword-leaved evergreen with bold burgundy foliage edged in bright pink, giving year-round colour and a tropical, architectural look. One of the hardiest of the coloured cordylines, it develops a sturdy trunk over time and copes well with coastal exposure, sea air, and dry soils. Ideal as a specimen plant in borders or containers.
Size: Reaches an eventual height of around 2.5–4m with a spread of roughly 1–1.5m, achieved slowly over 10–20 years.
Growing conditions: Grow in well-drained, fertile soil in full sun or partial shade, in a sheltered position. Tolerates a wide range of soil types once established and is notably cold-hardy for a coloured cordyline, withstanding temperatures down to around -9°C.
Hand-selected for healthy growth and strong foliage colour.
