Galanthus woronowii 10 bulbs

Also known as the green snowdrop, Galanthus woronowii is instantly distinguishable from other snowdrops by its glossy, broad, bright green leaves — a striking contrast to the usual grey-green foliage of the genus. The classic nodding white flowers, each inner tepal marked with a soft green blotch, appear in late winter and early spring, bringing welcome life to borders and woodland edges when little else is stirring. Native to the Caucasus and north-east Turkey, it's a vigorous, reliable species that settles in readily.

Reaching around 10-15cm in height with a modest spread, Galanthus woronowii is best planted in early autumn, 8-10cm deep, in moist but well-drained soil in partial shade. Snowdrops establish most successfully when planted "in the green" (while still in leaf, just after flowering) rather than as dry bulbs, so keep planting depth generous and avoid letting them dry out before going in. Once settled, they will steadily bulk up and can be divided to spread the display further afield.
