Miscanthus sinensis 'Kleine Silberspinne' 2Ltr

Meaning "little silver spider," this compact ornamental grass forms a neat, arching clump of narrow leaves, each marked with a distinctive white midrib that catches the light beautifully. From late summer, feathery, reddish flower heads rise to around 1.2m, soon fading to a pale, silvery brown that holds its structure through much of winter, adding welcome texture and movement to the garden long after most perennials have finished for the season.

This compact, clump-forming deciduous grass reaches a height of 1–1.5m (3¼–5ft), with a narrower spread of 0.1–0.5m (4in–1½ft), making it a graceful choice for adding vertical interest to borders or as a striking standalone feature. It grows in any moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil in full sun, and appreciates protection from excessive winter wet.
