Clematis Eliza Evi 3ltr

A brand-new introduction from renowned breeder Raymond Evison, Clematis 'Eliza' bears large, softly ruffled and wavy blooms that open a delicate pale violet-blue before maturing to pure white, each highlighted by contrasting deep red-tipped anthers. The flowers are carried generously from base to tip, creating a full, even display rather than concentrating at the top of the plant. Blooming from late spring into early summer, with repeat flowers from late summer onwards, Eliza offers a long season of interest.

Compact in habit, reaching a mature height of around 90-120cm (3-4ft), this variety is well suited to patios, containers, and the front or middle of a border, and looks especially striking trained onto an obelisk or grown up through a supporting shrub. It thrives in full sun to part shade, in moist, well-drained soil, with its roots kept cool and shaded — a mulch or planting of low-growing perennials at the base works well.

For pruning, reduce all stems down to around 15cm (6in) above soil level in late winter or early spring. As with all clematis, the foliage and sap can cause skin irritation, so gloves are worth wearing when handling or pruning.
