Carex oshimensis 'Evergold' 3Ltr

A graceful, arching evergreen sedge grown for its striking golden variegation — narrow leaves carry a bright central stripe of creamy yellow, edged in deep green, creating a shimmering effect that brings light and colour to shadier corners of the garden all year round. Insignificant brown flower spikes appear on long stems in summer, though it's the foliage that does the real work here. This variety holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit, a mark of its reliability and garden-worthiness.

This evergreen sedge forms a neat, non-spreading clump reaching around 30cm (12in) in height, making it well suited to shady borders, pondside planting, or as an elegant foil for brightly coloured flowers in container displays. It thrives in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in partial shade, and benefits from a gentle comb-through in winter to remove any dead foliage.
