Carex oshimensis 'Evercream' 5ltr

Carex 'Evercream' is an evergreen sedge that looks good all year. Its long, arching leaves are dark green with crisp cream to pale yellow margins, forming a neat, rounded mound. In the depths of winter, when much of the garden has faded, it keeps its colour and brings light to shady corners and containers. Part of the EverColor series, this 5 litre plant is already a good size, so it makes an impact as soon as it goes in.

'Evercream' reaches a height and spread of up to 50cm over two to five years. It grows in full sun or partial shade and is unfussy about soil, doing well in chalk, clay, loam or sand provided it is moist but well-drained. Small brown flowers appear in summer, but the striped foliage is the real draw. Use it to soften border and path edges, plant it in groups for low-maintenance ground cover, or pair it in pots with heucheras, hostas and seasonal bedding.

It needs very little care. In spring, comb out any tired or brown leaves with your fingers instead of cutting the plant back, and water container plants during dry spells. Established clumps can be lifted and divided in spring.

Supplied as a well-established plant in a 5 litre pot. Each plant is hand-selected before dispatch.
