Azalea japonica 'Madame Van Hecke' 10ltr pot

Azalea japonica 'Madame Van Hecke' (registered as 'Madame Albert van Hecke')

Bred in Belgium by A. van Hecke and part of the kaempferi hybrid group, Azalea japonica 'Madame Van Hecke' is a tough, reliable evergreen azalea that produces a stunning profusion of small, rose-pink flowers in late spring. The small, ovate leaves open bright green before maturing to a rich dark green, giving handsome year-round structure to the upright, dwarf shrub.

Reaching a height and spread of around 75–100cm, 'Madame Van Hecke' is easy to grow and well suited to containers, small gardens, and mixed beds or borders. It's very hardy and adaptable to most garden situations, thriving in moist but well-drained, humus-rich, acidic soil in partial or dappled shade, sheltered from frost pockets and strong winds. All parts of the plant are harmful if eaten, so gloves are recommended when handling and pruning.

Each plant is hand-selected before dispatch.
