Damsons are among the easiest and most rewarding fruit trees to grow. Our damson trees bring clouds of white spring blossom for early bees, followed in late summer and autumn by heavy crops of small, rich, tart fruit that's perfect for jams, jellies, crumbles, chutneys and homemade damson gin. Tough, hardy and naturally compact, they cope well with cooler and more exposed gardens where other plums may struggle. Many varieties are self-fertile, so a single tree will crop on its own. Plant in full sun in well-drained soil, and prune in summer to keep your tree healthy.
