Physocarpus opu Diablo — 12L Container

Physocarpus opulifolius 'Diablo' is grown here as a single-stemmed small tree, showing off its rich, dark purple foliage. Clusters of pink-flushed white flowers appear in early summer, followed by glossy red seed heads, and the peeling bark adds winter interest. A dramatic contrast plant and holder of the RHS Award of Garden Merit.

It grows to around 2.5m x 2.5m after 10 years. Plant in full sun or partial shade in moist but well-drained soil; clay is tolerated. The leaf colour is richest in full sun.
