Also known as Heavenly Bamboo, Nandina domestica 'Obsessed' is a compact evergreen shrub grown chiefly for its vivid, ever-changing foliage. New growth emerges in fiery shades of red, settling to fresh green through the summer months before flushing red once again as the weather cools, giving this variety genuine year-round interest without ever needing to flower for impact. In summer, delicate clusters of small white flowers add a further layer of charm.

Despite its bamboo-like appearance, 'Obsessed' has nothing to do with true bamboo and none of its invasive habits, instead forming a naturally dense, upright, and compact mound that holds its shape well with minimal pruning. This makes it a wonderfully versatile choice for foundation planting, low hedging, or mass planting for a bold seasonal display, and its restrained size also suits it beautifully to containers on a patio or balcony.
