A striking rock rose that brings real drama to the summer garden, with large, crumpled blooms in rich rose-purple, each petal marked with a distinctive deep maroon blotch at the base surrounding a boss of golden stamens. The flowers open in succession over many weeks, so although each individual bloom lasts only a day, the display continues reliably through the warmer months, set off beautifully by narrow, grey-green aromatic foliage.

Upright and bushy in habit, this vigorous hybrid typically reaches around 90cm-1m in height and spread, making it a fine choice for sunny borders, gravel gardens, or sheltered coastal plots where its bold colouring can really shine. It thrives in poor, free-draining soil and full sun, and once established is impressively drought-tolerant, needing little beyond a light trim after flowering to maintain a neat, compact shape.
