Helenium mariachi 'Fuego' 2L

A compact sneezeweed, bursting into fiery bicolour flowers in vivid red, orange and gold from midsummer through into autumn. Daisy-like blooms with prominent brown-bronze central cones are held on strong, well-branched stems above tidy green foliage, giving a long-lasting, sizzling display that's a magnet for bees and butterflies.

Grow in full sun, in average, well-drained soil ideally enriched with organic matter — established plants also tolerate short dry spells and brief periods of wet. Water regularly while young, then reduce once settled in. A light feed of balanced fertiliser in early spring helps keep growth vigorous. Reaching around 45-55cm tall with a similar or slightly greater spread, its compact, floriferous habit makes it well suited to smaller borders, containers, or mass planting, and it needs no special winter protection.

Wonderful for injecting hot late-summer colour into a mixed border, and the flowers cut beautifully for indoor arrangements too. Each plant is hand-selected before dispatch.
