Known as "Glory of the Snow," Chionodoxa luciliae is one of the very first bulbs to flower each year, often pushing through as winter loosens its grip. Small, star-shaped flowers in intense, bright blue are borne in loose clusters of 2–3 per stem, each with a clear white eye at the centre — a simple but striking combination that brings real sparkle to the late-winter garden.

Compact at just 15cm, this dainty perennial bulb naturalises beautifully, spreading gently over the years to form generous drifts. It's perfectly suited to rock gardens, the front of borders, or naturalising in short grass and beneath deciduous trees and shrubs, where its early flowers can make the most of the bare spring light.

Plant bulbs in autumn, at two to three times their own depth, in any well-drained soil in full sun. As with all chionodoxa, bulbs are ornamental only and should not be eaten; gloves are recommended when handling.

Each bulb is hand-selected before dispatch.
