Iris Frozen Planet (10)

One of the very first flowers to break the winter gloom, Iris 'Frozen Planet' is a truly striking dwarf iris with ice-white petals, each delicately tipped with a soft brush of pastel blue. A subtle touch of greenish-yellow at the throat completes an elegant, frosty colour combination that makes a beautiful contrast against the darker purple reticulata varieties.

Compact at just 10–15cm, Frozen Planet flowers as early as February, well ahead of most spring bulbs, making it a wonderful choice for the front of borders, rockeries, alpine troughs and containers. It combines beautifully with other early risers such as snowdrops, chionodoxa and early crocus.

Plant bulbs in autumn, around 8–10cm deep in well-drained, neutral to slightly alkaline soil, in a sunny position. As with all iris, bulbs and sap can be harmful if eaten, so gloves are recommended when handling.

Each bulb is hand-selected before dispatch.
